Our Technology Infrastructure team operates globally, responsible for the firm's hybrid platform. This includes EUC/Office environments, Trading and Core service Co-Location Data Centres, and Public Cloud, delivering top-tier technology services to a dynamic and demanding Trading organisation.

We continuously evolve and transform our platforms to maintain a competitive edge. We innovate to provide valuable solutions and leverage our skilled Technology teams to deliver against rapidly changing business requirements.

Role Overview:

As a member of our London-based DevOps team, you will work closely with development teams to deliver functionality and facilitate the delivery of new features to the business. You will collaborate with the platforms team on multi-tenant private and public cloud initiatives.

This role requires proficiency in system integration, support, and continuous improvement using DevOps methodologies, with an emphasis on standardisation and repeatability through high levels of automation and orchestration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience working with pull requests and peer reviews in an agile environment.
  • Comprehensive Kubernetes engineering and support experience, including on-prem, using bare metal hardware or integrated with hypervisors such as VMWare, and EKS/AKS.
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows.
  • Proficient in configuration management and automation, using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience programming in Python, and at least one of Groovy, Java, or C#.
  • Excellent understanding of CI/CD, using TeamCity and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Nexus or Artifactory.
  • Proficient with OpenTelemetry and an in-depth understanding of Prometheus, ELK, Tempo, or Jaeger.
  • Platform engineering and support experience with Public Cloud platforms, preferably with a major Hyperscaler like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Previous experience with Java and DotNet Core, including Tomcat and Jetty, and a good understanding of the JVM and CLR.
  • Messaging with Kafka.
  • Experience with Redis, Hazelcast, and Memcached.
  • Experience with JUnit, pytest, Selenium, and/or other testing frameworks and tools.
  • Testing with Gremlin, chaos-test, litmuschaos, or similar.

The ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with a proven track record in problem-solving, critical BAU, advanced engineering, and technology service delivery in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment. You should be passionate about emerging technology trends, innovations and directions, and eager to suggest and implement new solutions to enhance our technology performance.

You should also understand the need for rapid delivery while appreciating business risk and constraints to ensure adherence to service levels.

The candidate should have extensive experience working both independently and as part of a diverse team, meeting both broad and specific project/BAU objectives. This role requires excellent organisational skills, open communication, and a collaborative approach. Your commitment to continuous improvement should be evident, both in learning from others and sharing knowledge to enhance our team's capability and function.
