Facilities Maintenance Role

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician with City Facilities Management (UK), you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing above-ground sanitaryware and general plumbing in ASDA stores. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient and cost-effective maintenance of surface and foul water drainage systems, while adhering to company health and safety policy.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues from IST and ASDA, promoting a professional image of the company.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks within agreed timescales, ensuring accurate completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Respond promptly to service calls, assessing job requirements and carrying out repairs as necessary.
  • Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet agreed timescales and response times.
  • Order spare parts and procure essential materials in accordance with laid-down procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of suitable replacement or alternatives for sanitaryware or general plumbing/drainage beyond repair.
  • Participate in team meetings, conduct surveys, and complete reports as needed.
  • Assist Plumbing/Drainage Engineers in other areas when requested, supervising, monitoring, and controlling the work of Plumbing/Drainage Trainees.
  • Ensure all staff are aware of and understand company practices and procedures relating to plumbing/drainage systems.
  • Attend training courses as necessary to maintain personal and team job skills aligned with technical developments.
  • Comply with company health and safety policy and ensure adherence to water/effluent/environmental byelaws at all times.
  • Collaborate with company and ASDA colleagues to maintain laid-down standards of quality at all times.
