Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and patient individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at St Elizabeth's Centre. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support to learners aged with complex needs and Epilepsy, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 classroom support to learners aged with complex needs and Epilepsy
- Ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence in all aspects of learning, leisure and life
- Implementing a personalised learning plan and ensuring progress and achievements are recorded
- Occasionally supporting learners with personal care and administering medication (full training will be provided)
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Patience and understanding to work with learners in a manner which gives them maximum choice and independence
- Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, ideally within a classroom setting
- Good literacy and numeracy skills with initiative and willingness to collaborate with the teaching team
