Role Overview

We are seeking a Petroleum Cargo Manager to join our team at Prax. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of petroleum products from refineries to terminals and warehouses. You will work closely with our trading department to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a degree in a relevant field. They should possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with traders to arrange shipments
  • Vetting vessels against company policies
  • Working with product managers to adjust scheduling
  • Ensuring trade finance is well-informed of transactions
  • Entering cargo information and costs into trading systems
  • Understanding and managing demurrage risks
  • Nominating cargoes to terminals
  • Issuing documentary instructions and voyage orders
  • Liaising with inspectors and other parties
  • Updating trading systems with accurate data

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified with at least 3+ years' experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Possess good understanding of marine operations and its commercial impact
  • Strong commercial thinking ability - full understanding of deal pricing and risk exposure per cargo
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
