About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at RedCat Pubs. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our customers.

As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety are maintained at all times. You will also be expected to assist with menu development, kitchen operations, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in the kitchen, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Assist with menu development, including creating new dishes and tweaking existing ones to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, stock control, and waste reduction.
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to deliver exceptional results.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and EHO standards.
  • Participate in staff training and development, including mentoring and coaching junior team members.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on presentation, flavor, and texture.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH and EHO standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
