Job Title: Operations Manager – (Construction/Engineering)

Location: Shrewsbury, UK

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum + company car + progression opportunities

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day operations. This exciting role offers the chance to manage a dedicated team of field operatives and engineers, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality products and services to major projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's objectives, increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Oversee the scheduling and deployment of mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineers nationwide, ensuring the right resources are in place to meet project demands.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to align operational activities with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Ensure effective production planning and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Maintain the engineers' skills matrix and ensure ongoing training and professional development.
  • Manage procurement and supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing operations team, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management within engineering, construction, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing M&E engineers and multi-site projects.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain logistics, production planning, and process optimisation.
  • Leadership experience with a proven track record in team management and operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification is preferred.
