Octopus Energy is a pioneering leader in renewable energy, and we're seeking a highly skilled Technical Asset Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our operations team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and profitability of our renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • PV System Design and Analysis: Develop and implement advanced PV system designs for large-scale, commercial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Investment Case Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of potential investments, focusing on technical assumptions and financial feasibility, to ensure realistic and achievable projections.
  • Technical Assumptions and Financial Feasibility: Review and validate technical assumptions underlying financial models, including energy yield forecasts, system degradation rates, and maintenance requirements.
  • CAPEX and OPEX Profiling: Develop comprehensive CAPEX and OPEX profiles for each project, incorporating benchmark data, historical performance, and supplier quotes to inform accurate financial planning.
  • Risk-Adjusted Return Analysis: Evaluate the risk-adjusted returns of investment opportunities, incorporating scenario analysis to understand the impact of varying technical assumptions and cost profiles on project viability and investor returns.
  • Sensitivity Analysis: Perform sensitivity analyses on key technical and financial inputs to identify potential risks and opportunities, ensuring robust investment decisions.
  • Energy Generation Modelling: Utilize advanced software and methodologies to model energy generation potential, continuously improving models based on actual performance data and industry developments.
  • Proactive Operation Strategies: Develop and implement proactive operation strategies to optimize performance, extend asset life, and reduce downtime for large-scale, commercial, and residential rooftop assets.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and financial risks associated with renewable energy assets, implementing robust risk management frameworks and practices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to align objectives and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements to processes, technologies, and strategies to enhance asset performance and profitability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in technical asset management, solar PV design, energy analysis, and direct experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of PV assets.
  • Advanced data analytics skills, including proficiency in interpreting complex datasets and conducting performance analyses and forecasting energy production accurately.
  • Strong understanding of financial models and investment analysis in the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
