Head Herdsperson Opportunity

We are a family-owned progressive mixed farming business on the Cambridgeshire border, milking 400 Holsteins through 8 A5 Lely robots.

The cows are housed all year round, with the Heifers grazing part of the year, with their milk supplied on an Arla contract.

The farm operates on an all-year-round calving system, with our records kept up to date using Cow Manager.

We are currently harvesting 500 acres of cereal crops including wheat, barley and grass for the farm's forage use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the dairy team with day-to-day duties
  • Take control of the farm while the farm manager is away
  • Ensure animal welfare is the top priority
  • Maintenance of farm equipment & Lely robots
  • Liaise with Vets, nutritionists and consultants
  • Keep the overall farm tidy and safe to operate
  • Responsibility for dry cow management, calving cows and colostrum protocols
Requirements
  • Previous experience in dairy farming and agriculture
  • Interest or passion for robotic farming
  • Full UK Driving license
  • Telehandler & Forklift License preferred
