About the Role

Mencap is seeking passionate Relief Support Workers to join our Floating Support team in Rochdale. As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.

You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, providing emotional support, and helping individuals to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily activities, such as personal care and household tasks
  • Provide emotional support and help individuals to build meaningful relationships
  • Work with individuals to develop and achieve their goals, such as improving their independence and confidence
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as healthcare workers and social workers, to ensure that individuals receive comprehensive support

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for supporting others and making a positive difference in people's lives
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities
