About the Role

Mencap is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Relief Support Worker to join our Floating Support team in Rochdale.

As a Relief Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.

You will work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, providing emotional support, and helping individuals to achieve their goals.

The Floating Support service is a community-based service that supports people in their own homes.

You will work with a small team to provide support to individuals, helping them to maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily activities, such as personal care and household tasks
  • Provide emotional support and help individuals to build relationships
  • Help individuals to access community resources and services
  • Work with individuals to set and achieve goals
  • Provide support to individuals in their own homes

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for supporting others
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities
