Job Title: Financial Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Absolutely Recruitment. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing support to the Finance Director in the management of the day-to-day function of the Finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting and Reporting: Assist the Finance Director in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, control account reconciliations, and other supporting schedules for management information packs.
  • Financial Analysis: Have a full understanding of the numbers reported and be able to speak knowledgeably regarding budget variances.
  • Annual Budgeting: Assist with the preparation of the annual budget for the group.
  • Audit Support: Liaise with auditors and provide requested audit information to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
  • Nominal Ledger Management: Maintain nominal ledgers, ensuring a clear audit trail for all entries.
  • Accounting Systems: Undertake a range of duties using the company's accounting systems, including preparation and input of journals, production of accounts, and analysis as required.
  • Bank and Cash Management: Monitor and manage bank and cash transactions, including online banking.
  • Internal Customer Support: Liaise with internal customers to ensure that internal and external queries are dealt with punctually and professionally.
  • Cover and Support: Provide cover where necessary for invoicing, payments, cash collection, and funding areas as typical in an SME environment.

Person Specification:

  • Accounts Experience: Extensive accounts experience and knowledge of accounting procedures and processes.
  • SME Experience: Experience of working in an SME environment (desirable).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Visual Basic (desirable).
  • Quality Framework: Experience of working within a quality-driven framework.
  • Time Management: Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure, with attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously as well as being an excellent team-player.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally in small meetings.
  • Problem Solving: Problem-solving ability.
  • Accountability: Articulate, accountable, and possess high levels of integrity.
  • Telephone Manner: Confident telephone manner.
  • Qualifications: ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
