About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the delivery of high-quality respiratory physiotherapy services, contributing to the health and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and rehabilitate patients with various respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, trauma, critical care, and post-operative thoracic surgery patients.
- Work in a challenging, yet rewarding clinical environment with opportunities for professional development and career progression.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to maximize patient function and facilitate safe discharge.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide advanced standard of physiotherapy to patients.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- Qualified Physiotherapist with experience in treating patients with acute respiratory conditions.
- Experience using NIV equipment.
- Proven experience in doing shifts within an acute respiratory on-call service, including intensive care, adults, and children.
- Experience within a variety of acute areas, including orthopaedics, medicine, elderly care, and neuro.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire to work in respiratory care at UHS.
- Knowledge and understanding of NHS systems.
