Job Description

Job Title: Residential Children's Services Deputy Manager

Location: Western Super Mare

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £35,213.36 per annum (includes sleep in shifts)

Specific Hours: 38 hours per week

Responsible for: Team Leaders, Residential Support Workers

About the Role:

We are seeking a Deputy Manager to join our team at Headway Adolescent Resources. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the needs of young people in our care are met and providing a positive and safe living experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to provide a high quality of childcare
  • Work with and support the Children's Home Manager to ensure the residential home runs smoothly and effectively at all times
  • Ensure young people achieve positive outcomes

Requirements:

  • Good overall standard of education
  • Working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
  • Up to date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations and quality standards
  • Hold a QCF Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards one
  • Commitment to commence relevant level 5 Diploma within 6 months of appointment and successful completion of probation period, if not already qualified to this level
  • A minimum of 2 years' previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behaviour
  • Experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents and families
  • Experience of attending reviews, planning meetings etc.
  • Excellent report writing and numeracy skills
  • Well organised with excellent administration and IT skills
  • Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of child care and to achieve the best outcomes for young people in their care
  • Strong motivational, management and leadership potential. Able to supervise, support and develop Team Leaders & Residential Support Workers to create a cohesive team

  • On call payments- £10 for weekday (Monday to Friday) and £50 for Saturday and Sunday
