Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on construction contracts, development agreements, and other legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice on major projects, including the Alhambra Shopping Centre and The Glassworks
  • Drafting, reviewing, and advising on construction contracts, such as JCT and NEC
  • Working closely with the procurement team to provide advice on consultancy agreements, professional service contracts, and grant agreements
  • Advising on development and regeneration projects
