Special Education Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Support Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Isleworth, Hounslow. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) within an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) class.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and caring individual to make a positive impact on the lives of our students. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with Autism and challenging behaviour.

The ideal candidate will possess strong behaviour management skills, a Level 3 qualification in childcare, and a flexible, proactive attitude. They will also be able to establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, teachers, and other staff members across the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the lead teacher in creating a conducive learning environment that promotes inclusivity and engagement.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and document pupil progress, communicating observations to the lead teacher to inform targeted support strategies.
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils as required, both in and out of the classroom.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with Autism.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient demeanor.
  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification or equivalent.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
  • Right to work in the UK.
