We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Audiovisual Archivist to join our team at the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with expertise in classical music cataloguing to contribute to the preservation and accessibility of our vast audiovisual collection.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent cataloguing skills, a deep understanding of data standards, and proficiency in IT systems. They will work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency in metadata standards and develop efficient workflows to maintain high data quality.
In addition to technical skills, we require strong communication and time management abilities, as well as the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
An essential requirement for this role is a demonstrable knowledge of classical music, which can be evidenced by degree-level qualifications or significant professional experience. Aural identification of instruments and styles is also crucial. While not necessary, fluency in one or more foreign languages would be a valuable asset.
