Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the nuclear industry. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise and a proven track record in engineering consultancy, adding significant value to customer relations, overseeing project delivery, and contributing to the governance and growth of the discipline within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Mechanical engineering discipline, setting standards, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to maintain technical excellence.
  • Actively promote a pro-active safety culture and perform analysis to create a learning from experience behaviour.
  • Provide expert technical advice and solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate innovative technologies and methodologies into project delivery.
  • Oversee the delivery of projects, ensuring they meet technical, quality, and safety standards.
  • Review and approve technical content, including design documents, calculations, and reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of technical outputs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution and technical deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to add value to client projects and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience in nuclear consultancy, with a focus on Mechanical engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of nuclear industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on quality and accuracy.
