Mental Health Practitioner for Children and Young People

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Children in Care team at Dudley CAMHS. The successful candidate will have a professional qualification in a mental health-related subject and experience working with children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a specialist clinical service for Looked after Children, young people, and their carers, as well as adopted children and their parents.
- Provide advice and consultation to colleagues from other agencies and to non-professional carers, working autonomously within their professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
- Participate in audit, policy, and service development within the specialist area of the Children and Young People in Care team (CAMHS).
- Be an important member of the Looked after Children team whose therapeutic approach integrates attachment, systemic, cognitive, and psychoanalytical traditions and practices.

The team is embedded within the core CAMHS team, which is one of four CAMHS teams in the Trust. Each CAMHS team is a large, dynamic, and successful service comprising a broad spectrum of disciplines and a long tradition of effective multidisciplinary and interagency working.

- Professional qualification in a mental health-related subject (e.g., Registered Mental Health Nurse (RCN), Occupational Therapist (HCPC), CBT Therapist (BABCP), Social Worker (BASW), Creative Therapists (HCPC), or equivalent).
- Degree/equivalent experience in CAMH-related field.
- Demonstrates assessment, risk assessment, and care planning skills.
- Demonstrates experience of working in child and adolescent mental health and Looked after Children.
- Demonstrates the ability to assess and manage the complex mental health needs of children and young people in care.
