We believe in personal development and the Growth Mindset. Our Risk Underwriting Team in Cardiff is part of a broader region covering 122 countries across 17 locations, with staff from approximately 25 nationalities speaking 38 languages.

As a Risk Underwriter, you will be responsible for reviewing credit limit requests from new and existing customers, monitoring your buyer portfolio, and applying underwriting principles and guidelines to support new risks or modify existing strategies. You will also attend calls with buyers and customers to discuss financial positions, sector, and market events.

The role offers exciting travel opportunities to visit markets, buyers, customers, and partners in our region. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the business and work closely with our Global unit and Commercial Units across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review credit limit requests from new and existing customers
  2. Monitor buyer portfolio through annual and ad-hoc reviews
  3. Apply underwriting principles and guidelines to support new risks or modify existing strategies
  4. Attend calls with buyers and customers to discuss financial positions, sector, and market events

Requirements:

  1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks to meet multiple targets and deadlines
  2. Ability to assimilate information and process workflow items quickly and arrive at decisions promptly without detriment to quality
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to attend buyer and customer calls and present underwriting cases and markets
  4. Understanding of worldwide economics and an interest in worldwide current affairs
