Cardiology Opportunity at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in invasive cardiac electrophysiology and complex device implantation to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will contribute to our comprehensive consultant-led secondary and tertiary cardiology service, working closely with a team of 23 consultant cardiologists. The post will include 3-4 sessions of work per week in the cardiac catheter labs, with a mixture of interventional electrophysiology and simple/complex device implantation.

The appointee will participate in the Consultant of the Week rota, rotating through the Acute Cardiac Unit and in-patient wards, as well as participating in the QMC rota. Weekend on-call is 48 hours from Saturday 9am until Monday 9am, with the option to exchange some or all weekends on call for two separate Sunday morning ward rounds without any weekend on-call duties.

Our tertiary catchment covers Nottingham and surrounding districts, North Nottinghamshire, and parts of Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, with a population of approximately 1.3 million. We deliver secondary and tertiary cardiology services on both NUH campuses, at Queens Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital.

The Trent Cardiac Centre provides two new cardiac catheter laboratories, a day case unit, and day case echocardiography, as well as cardiac surgical theatres, dedicated cardiac intensive care and high dependency units, and combined cardiology and cardiac surgical ward accommodation.
