About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to join our Computing Department at Bedford College Group.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students' educational, personal, and social needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending to students' requirements and making their needs part of the learning experience where possible.
  • Providing first aid or medicine when necessary under agreed college procedures.
  • Promoting inclusion in learning activities and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Assisting with preparations for college visits and supervising students during these events.
  • Contributing to devising and extending educational activities and preparing curriculum materials.
  • Helping to assess and record students' progress and achievements to inform further support.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • English and Maths or equivalent qualifications at GCSE grade A-C.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • A minimum of six months' experience working with children/young people within an educational setting.
  • An understanding of the educational needs of children and young people.
  • The ability to plan and develop educational activities.
  • Collaborative skills and the ability to work without constant supervision.
  • Proficiency in using IT in a classroom setting.
Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £24,000 (pro rata) and a range of benefits including the People's Pension and retail discounts.
