Job Description

Tim Hortons is seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Shift Manager to join our team. As a Restaurant Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and treat customers as top priority.
  • Be customer-focused in all areas of restaurant operations.
  • Accurate staff scheduling to meet customer demand.
  • Support the team to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular store walks from the customer's perspective.

People:

  • Encourage staff to share suggestions and concerns.
  • Provide feedback to team members on performance, set goals, and objectives, and provide support and guidance.
  • Create a positive team environment, ensuring all employees are treated with dignity and respect, and are free from discrimination.
  • Performance management when necessary, working with the HR Department.

Driving Sales:

  • Understand sales, popular products, peak trade times, and adjust accordingly.
  • Ensure all products are correctly merchandised and at sufficient levels, and all aspects of marketing campaigns.
  • Coach employees to upsell and suggest selling to customers.
  • Evaluate the restaurant for areas of improvement, based on employee incentives to bring employees' focus to continuous improvement.

Operations:

  • Key Performance Indicators, such as sales, employee turnover, food safety, and health and safety standards.
  • Set the example for the team by keeping a cool head under pressure.
  • Weekly stock orders and ensure all incoming orders are checked for quality.
  • Maintenance schedule for all equipment for preventative maintenance and calibration purposes.
  • Optimal inventory.
  • Opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain operational standards/cleanliness within the restaurant, such as food quality, food hygiene standards, customer experience, speed of service, and hospitality.
  • Health and Safety program in the restaurant, focusing on accurate and prompt reporting of any accidents or incidents to the Regional Manager.
  • Be available to work a variety of shifts as part of the management team.

Key Requisites:

  • Previous experience of running restaurants.
  • A flexible and disciplined approach to work.
  • Experience of working in a food environment would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on their own.
  • Have a reasonable standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Maintain a high level of food hygiene and food safety.
  • Experienced in handling customer complaints.
  • Maintain a positive Health and Safety procedures and instructions are followed.
