About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Operational Support Officer to join our team at Rye Hill Prison in Rugby, Warwickshire. As an Operational Support Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the security of the prison by following all relevant procedures.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A competitive salary of £26,193.00 per annum (rising to £27,004.14 after 1-2 years' service and £27,814.26 after 2+ years' service).
  • A range of benefits, including company pension, free on-site parking, and ongoing training and development opportunities.

You will also have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the rehabilitation of offenders and helping them to reintegrate into mainstream society on release.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operational Support Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Searching vehicles, occupants, visitors, and their property on access or egress through a prison lock to ensure the security of the prison is maintained.
  • Participating in internal and external vehicle escorts and patrols as necessary.
  • Monitoring and operating CCTV cameras and radio networks in line with relevant procedures.
