Job Title: Demi Chef

At Marriott International, we're looking for a skilled Demi Chef to join our team at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. As a Demi Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Chef de Partie in preparing ingredients for baking, including portioning, chopping, and storage.

Responsibilities:
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Prepare all potentially hazardous foods at the correct temperature according to the HACCP guidelines, and follow appropriate personal hygiene procedures to ensure food served to guests is safe for consumption.
  • Food Preparation: Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare foods, and check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food using thermostats and thermometers.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served in to control food waste, and ensure that good food is not thrown away.
  • Teamwork: Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Maintenance: Report maintenance issues immediately to appropriate personnel, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of company Food Safety Programs within assigned area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering Certificate, and Food Allergy and Intolerance Training Certificate.
