Vacancy for Archivist at the University of Cambridge

We are seeking a skilled archivist to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition, working on the development and management of our archival collection.

The successful candidate will have experience in a range of archival functions, including the management of digitised and born-digital records, and will be able to support researchers, students, and users to access archives and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver services and projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining the archival collection, ensuring its integrity and accessibility
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on archival matters to colleagues and users
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the management of archival collections
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver projects and services that promote the use and management of archival collections

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in archival studies, with experience in a range of archival functions, including palaeographical and diplomatic skills, and excellent ICT literacy. They will also be an effective communicator, able to engage a range of audiences with the archival collections and interpret them in a variety of media.
