Design Manager Job Description

Our client, a leading design and manufacturer of sheet metal fabricated products for the construction industries, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to manage close-knit design teams in their Thetford and Hertford facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take overall responsibility for the Hertford and Thetford drawings offices.
  • Plan and delegate design work throughout both drawing offices to ensure drawings are produced in accordance with timescales, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that designs meet commercial, quality, and statutory requirements.
  • Review current processes and software, and seek opportunities for improvements.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, disciplinary actions, and one-to-one meetings within the design teams.
  • Produce KPI reports from the team for the head of projects.
Requirements
  • Experience with AutoCAD and 3D software such as Inventor or Solidworks.
  • Experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment, with knowledge of CAM software such as Radan or TruTops.
  • Willingness to travel between the Hertford and Thetford sites.
  • Full UK Driving License.
