About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Urgent Treatment Centre within Watford General Hospital.

As an Emergency Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing the health and clinical needs of our patients, using your minor injuries clinical skills and expertise to diagnose, treat, refer, or discharge patients.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting consultations with patients, taking comprehensive patient histories, and performing physical examinations to identify potential diagnoses.
  • Deciding on and implementing treatment plans, referring to primary or secondary care specialist services as necessary.
  • Prescribing or working from PGDs as required to support the immediate needs of minor injuries patients.
  • Providing clinical advice and mentorship to junior clinical staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification leading to registration.
  • Evidence of degree-level study or equivalent.
  • Evidence of completion of study in minor injuries and x-ray interpretation.
  • Independent non-medical prescriber or ability to work with PGDs.
  • Evidence of completion of study in paediatric minor injuries or willingness to develop these skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
