About the Role

We are seeking a talented and ambitious graduate engineer to join our team at Perega (formerly Thomasons Limited). As a Civil and Structural Engineering Specialist, you will play a key role in assisting senior staff with design work on projects and tasks, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a positive client relationship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and coordinate work as directed by senior staff, utilizing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist with the preparation of detailed plans, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Participate in site investigation works, gathering data and insights to inform design decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of computer-based systems to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Undertake site inspections and attend meetings with clients, design team members, and third parties, effectively communicating project progress and requirements.
  • Produce designs, assessments, and calculations in accordance with quality procedures, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Liaise with clients, design team members, and third parties to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Understand and adhere to existing working practices, methods, and procedures, embracing a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work within given program and cost constraints, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for self-development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
Requirements
  • University degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Good understanding of engineering principles and concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
  • Proactive approach to work, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Good understanding of construction procedures and industry standards.
  • Able to produce hand calculations and sketches of structural elements, utilizing computer design software packages.
  • Conversant in designing to British Standards/UK version of Eurocodes.
  • Knowledge of design software and its limitations, with the ability to work effectively within and across teams.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
