Exciting Opportunity for a Graduate Structural Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join a fast-growing company to work on a range of projects within a multi-disciplinary environment for Bennett and Game Recruitment Ltd. The Graduate Structural Engineer will be working for a UK-wide consultancy, which operates within the Civil and Structural Engineering sector, and will be given the opportunity for career development and chartership training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of sketch plans, working drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Assist with planning site investigation works
  • Preparing feasibility studies and providing design advice
  • Development and use of computer-based systems to improve efficiency
  • Undertake site inspection and attend site meetings
  • Produce designs, assessments, and calculations in accordance with quality procedures
  • Liaise effectively with clients, other design team members, and third parties
  • Communicating with the client, other consultants, and colleagues in the delivery of projects while maintaining a positive client relationship
  • Understand and adhere to existing working practices, methods, and procedures
  • Work within the given programme and cost constraints
Requirements
  • Degree within a Civil or Structural Engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Conversant in designing to British Standards/UK version of Eurocodes
  • Understanding of CDM regulations and the responsibilities of a designer
  • Conversant in designing structures in concrete, steelwork, timber, and masonry
  • Understanding of engineering principles
  • Able to produce hand calculations and sketches of structural elements
  • Good interpersonal skills
