About the Role

M-Sport UK is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our busy Machine Shop team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for creating bespoke parts for high-performance vehicles and completing projects to precise customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC Machining Centres and Lathes, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Write and prove programs using HyperMill, Fanuc, and Heidenhain controls, maintaining a high level of precision and quality.
  • Maintain and control a current tool inventory, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Check and maintain lubricants and coolant levels, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Operate manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and hand drills, demonstrating expertise in various machining techniques.
  • Work with jigs and fixtures, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Machine parts to our specifications, record contract documentation, complete time sheets correctly, and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
  • Ensure parts proceed to the next process with correct labelling procedures.
  • Clean machines as appropriate, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Requirements

We are looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 standard or equivalent qualification in Machining, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Machine Workshop.

The candidate should have a good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, with an ability to read engineering drawings and inspect their own work on both small and large batches using various materials to tight tolerances.

The successful candidate will pride themselves on their attention to detail, be capable of delivering a high standard of performance and quality, and work to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
