Job Summary:

This well-established web and app development agency, based in the Jewellery Quarter, is seeking a skilled mid-level developer to join their team. As a key member of the development team, you will be working on a wide range of web and mobile app projects for various clients across different sectors.

You will be working on projects with varying complexities, tech stacks, and services, requiring someone who can demonstrate their ability to learn quickly, work autonomously, and make informed technical decisions with support from the project lead.

The team currently works under a fully remote or hybrid working arrangement, with an office in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Most projects involve programming using React or React Native JavaScript frameworks on the frontend, with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or occasionally NodeJS on the backend, along with SQL to create RESTful APIs and data management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain high-quality web and mobile applications using React, React Native, PHP, and SQL.
  • Collaborate with the development and project teams to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and frameworks, and suggest new technologies to improve the company's offerings.
  • Work closely with the project lead to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
Requirements:
  • Mid-level developer with commercial programming experience.
  • Understanding of MVC programming principles.
  • Experience with an object-oriented backend language (PHP/Laravel desirable).
  • Experience with a frontend language (JavaScript desirable).
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL and understanding of database designs.
