Job Summary:
Tilbury Douglas is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to oversee the management and control of the design process for our projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that design and procurement information packages are delivered to meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide design input to support Project Delivery teams, both onsite and in the pre-construction period.
- Work closely with a senior design manager as mentor, providing guidance and structure to the role.
- Assist in the management of design proposals to ensure they meet customer/employer requirements, including budget and programme constraints.
- Implement the TD digital protocols and client BIM deliverables.
- Monitor responsibilities for the scheme against the project design responsibilities matrix.
- Manage the Design Team, including M&E elements, and ensure that 3rd parties or novated design teams meet customer specifications.
- Facilitate forums and processes to engage with commercial and operational teams in the design process.
- Conduct QA/Initial design reviews to assist in design quality management.
- Manage the design deliverables programme and facilitate meetings related to design delivery.
- Be aware of and assist in the management of sustainability deliverables for the scheme, including external and internal targets.
- Liaise with document project document control and manage this resource.
Requirements:
- Awareness of the principles of construction and the ability to work effectively in a project team.
- Excellent IT skills, with Microsoft Office essential and CAD knowledge desirable.
- Strong time management and structured approach to work.
