As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will be working in a modern manufacturing environment, involved in fault finding and repair, planned maintenance, and operating mechanical equipment used to manufacture products. You will also be responsible for other maintenance support roles, such as planning, logistics, and safety, to manage products throughout their expected service life.
Key activities include:
- Fault finding on energized systems, including extra low voltage electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power presses.
- Supporting PLC programming to maintain production processes.
- Planned maintenance on mechanical and control production equipment, such as extra low voltage electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power presses.
- Operating machines safely, managing risk, setting machines, repairing machines, and using common fault-finding techniques.
- Using gauges, measuring equipment, and recording SPC data for quality purposes.
Upon completion, you will achieve an Engineering Technician qualification from the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. This requires attending the state-of-the-art Academy for Skills and Knowledge (ASK) in Samlesbury for 3 days a week during the first year, with transport provided.
Benefits include a competitive pension scheme, employee share plans, and a range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing, and lifestyle benefits. You may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
The BAE Systems Land team offers a career where you can make a real difference, working alongside a supportive team driven by a shared ambition to protect what really matters. The company values diversity, rewards integrity and merit, and empowers employees to fulfill their potential.
Please note that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to security and export control restrictions. You must achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard and, in some cases, higher levels of National Security Vetting, which requires continuous UK residency.
