London, Greater London, United Kingdom C. Hoare & Co. Full time
Data Governance Specialist

C. Hoare & Co. is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to join our Data Enablement team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving the transformation of data understanding across the bank, developing standards of excellence and efficiency.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience working in a data governance, data quality, and metadata management role. A good understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data models is essential. Proven experience with data catalogues, data lineage/mapping, data quality measurement, and the development of data dictionaries and managing single sources of truth is also required.

The ideal candidate will have good technical analytical skills, including SQL and PowerBI, and a proven track record preparing, reviewing, and reporting data with the ability to develop meaningful analysis and insight.

As a Data Governance Specialist, you will engage with data owners, stewards, and champions to understand critical processes and data issues for their domain. You will support data stewards in completing robust data documentation for key data elements associated with their critical processes.

The role requires proactive self-education on existing systems to ensure data outputs are maintained and improved, in collaboration with Technology and Change. You will also proactively suggest new systems or system enhancements to better processes and data management/accuracy, thereby removing unnecessary manual intervention.

Mandatory skills/experience include hands-on experience working in a data governance, data quality, and metadata management role, a good understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and proven experience with data catalogues, data lineage/mapping, data quality measurement, and the development of data dictionaries and managing single sources of truth.

Desirable skills include knowledge and experience of master data management and reference data management, proven experience of measuring, monitoring, and reporting on data quality, and experience working with data role holders to support new and existing data requirements.
