Laboratory Analyst

We are looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in a dynamic and challenging environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out technical work in accordance with Envirolab procedures, when training record reflects competency.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out project work in priority order ensuring holding times are not breached.
- Ensuring all work completed is according to UKAS and Envirolab QMS requirements.
- Calibrating all laboratory equipment at the required frequency.
- Working within the confines of Envirolab's safety policy paying due regard to the requirements for PPE at all times.
- Stock control for laboratory consumables, including assisting with deliveries.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the laboratory.
- Training and assessing other staff in Envirolab procedures.
- Reporting any anomalies to the Laboratory Supervisor.
- Carrying out sample disposal and washing of laboratory equipment.
- Assisting with completion of anomaly forms.
- Recommending changes in all procedures or working practices where there are either errors or where habitual problems occur.
- Carrying out regular SHEMS inspections.
No previous chemistry or laboratory experience is required for this role. We are interested in hearing from candidates that are familiar with working in a process driven environment, are comfortable working off order lists and don't mind getting their hands dirty.

- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Being physically fit.
- Being a strong team player.
- Manual handling experience - desired.
We offer a competitive salary of £23,796 per annum, a full time position working 7am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday, a flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays, childcare vouchers and private health care, and regular training and career development.
