Laboratory Analyst

We are looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in a dynamic and challenging environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out technical work in accordance with Envirolab procedures, when training record reflects competency.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out project work in priority order ensuring holding times are not breached.
• Ensuring all work completed is according to UKAS and Envirolab QMS requirements.
• Calibrating all laboratory equipment at the required frequency.
• Working within the confines of Envirolab's safety policy paying due regard to the requirements for PPE at all times.
• Stock control for laboratory consumables, including assisting with deliveries.
• Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the laboratory.
• Training and assessing other staff in Envirolab procedures.
• Reporting any anomalies to the Laboratory Supervisor.
• Carrying out sample disposal and washing of laboratory equipment.
• Assisting with completion of anomaly forms.
• Recommending changes in all procedures or working practices where there are either errors or where habitual problems occur.
• Carrying out regular SHEMS inspections.

No previous chemistry or laboratory experience is required for this role. We are interested in hearing from candidates that are familiar with working in a process driven environment, are comfortable working off order lists and don't mind getting their hands dirty.
