About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Solicitor to join our team at Law Staff Limited. As a Mental Health Solicitor, you will be responsible for handling a range of mental health casework, including tribunal representation, and addressing issues arising from s.117 aftercare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet the LAA supervisor requirements for the Mental Health legal aid contract.
  • Handle a range of mental health casework, including tribunal representation.
  • Address issues arising from s.117 aftercare.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Develop and implement compliant processes, procedures, and precedents.
  • Self-supervise effectively.
Requirements
  • Experience across a range of mental health casework, including tribunal representation.
  • Knowledge of s.117 aftercare.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in creating and implementing team-wide processes.
  • Ability to self-supervise.
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in mental capacity and Court of Protection proceedings, including managing your own caseload.
  • Experience supervising other team members.
  • Relevant professional contacts and the ability to attract your own cases.
  • Ability to write and deliver training on mental health and mental capacity law issues.
