Bilingual Education Assistant Job Opportunity

The Education Entitlement Service (EES) aims to deliver exceptional services to our customers, including vulnerable children requiring access to education or alternative provision.

The EES comprises a diverse range of teams working together to address issues related to educating vulnerable pupils in schools.

Multilingual Assistants provide direct support to children in primary and secondary schools, offering bilingual assistance for children speaking English as an Additional Language.

This casual post anticipates a need for specific languages, with you supporting newly arrived children settling into school and learning English.

You will need:

  • To be fluent and literate in one or more of the following languages: Czech, Dari, Malayalam, Pashto, Slovak, Ukrainian.
  • To have a good command of written and spoken English.
  • To be willing to work in various educational settings across the city and attend ad-hoc meetings.
  • To be available for at least 4 mornings or 4 afternoons a week.
  • To be able to travel to schools and other education providers across the city.

Salary Estimate: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum.
