About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our Executive Team as an Associate Director of Sustainability at iO Associates - UK/EU. This is a key leadership position that will play a crucial role in driving our company's commitment to sustainability and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with Values: Foster a culture of authenticity, dedication, and kindness within our team, and invest in each individual to help them fulfill their potential.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Contribute to key strategic decisions to ensure positive and sustainable growth, and support clients in significantly enhancing the environmental performance of their developments.
  • Collaborative Management: Use a coaching and collaborative style to meet individual, team, and company targets, and work closely with the Scheduling and Resourcing Team and other Team Leaders to promote sustainable practices.
  • Client Relationships: Develop strong, trust-based relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and provide input into marketing and advertising efforts, highlighting our sustainability achievements.
  • Pipeline Development: Contribute to developing a robust project pipeline focused on sustainable initiatives, and support clients in achieving their sustainability goals.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively in a team-based environment, and contribute to the development of a culture that values sustainability and environmental performance.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in sustainability consultancy, architecture, planning, construction, or M&E.
  • Client-Facing Role: Proven experience of dealing with clients and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Honours level degree in a relevant field, and Chartered Engineer status.
  • Personal Traits: Initiative, attention to detail, drive, strong communication skills, and a sense of humour.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Sustainability: Strong knowledge of sustainability principles and practices, and experience in developing and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • BREEAM: Experience in BREEAM assessment and certification.
  • Building Physics: Strong understanding of building physics and its application in sustainable design.
  • Consultancy: Experience in providing sustainability consultancy services to clients.
