Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Agile Developer to join our team in Osterley. As a key member of our Product Delivery team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering brilliant products and unmissable entertainment that grips millions of households.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Release and support Sky Sports products into the live environment for a global audience.
  2. Participate in the full software lifecycle, including support and continuous integration.
  3. Contribute to the technical direction of the team.
  4. Provide guidance and mentoring to other developers on the team.
  5. Share and generate new ideas, provide constructive and useful feedback to peers.
  6. Quickly build prototypes and work with top brains in ML across the industry.
  7. Actively participate in code reviews within your squad and across the department.
  8. Work with senior technical staff to advocate & advance modern software development processes.
  9. Be a part of Sky's software engineering community and actively contribute to development meetings, guilds, and wider Sky initiatives.
Requirements:
  1. You are a very confident AWS software developer – this is a must (AWS certification is a bonus).
  2. Experience or ability to very quickly pick up Javascript/Typescript.
  3. It will be nice if you have experience working with Python, React, Lambda, Serverless Framework, DynamoDB, S3, AppSync/GraphQL, API Gateway, Step Functions etc.
  4. Restless attitude and a drive to always make things better and quicker.
  5. Experience of development within a cross-functional agile team, using source control with appropriate branching and commit strategies.
  6. Experience setting up, configuring and maintaining all parts of the development process, e.g. tracing, monitoring, observability, automated CI/CD pipelines, release tooling, APIs and backend integrations.
  7. Experience refactoring complex codebases, reducing technical debt and improving code quality over time.
