Gastroenterology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new, cohesive and integrated department, combining gastroenterology and endoscopy services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, while also contributing to the development and delivery of teaching in gastroenterology at the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Subject Lead for Gastroenterology, working closely with academic leads and clinical colleagues to develop and implement a plan for teaching and learning in gastroenterology.
- Use subject matter expertise to create and curate high-quality teaching materials, reflecting the conditions and presentations that students will need to recognize for the Medical Licensing Assessment.
- Work closely with other teaching leads and development teams to ensure integration of medical science, anatomy, and clinical skills and reasoning teaching within the subject.
- Develop formative and summative assessments based on learning materials generated, aligned to and reflective of the questions students will encounter in the relevant aspects of Medical Licensing Assessment.
- Monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of content and delivery, ensuring a uniform experience for students across multiple sites.
- Contribute to the wider delivery of medical school activities, such as admissions, tutoring, and assessment and feedback.
- MBBS, MBChB or equivalent qualification
- Full GMC or GDC registration
- Royal College Membership
- Consultant, SAS Doctor or General Practitioner
- On the GMC Specialist Register
