Job Overview:

Alexander Lloyd seeks an experienced Career Development Specialist to lead the development of our trainee population, including apprentices, graduates, and other trainees. The successful candidate will work closely with the L&D team to manage and deliver all related activity.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead the apprentice scheme and graduate development, supporting all UK-based trainees.
  • Work strategically and operationally with key stakeholders to achieve board-level objectives.
  • Lead on apprentice recruitment, working with the L&D Director, L&D Coordinator, and business apprentice leads to forward plan recruitment effectively.
  • Develop and manage relationships with training providers, colleges, universities, and other course suppliers.
  • Act as the lead representative for the Technical Apprenticeship Consortium (TAC), attending meetings and liaising with members.
  • Support apprentices in meeting 20% off-the-job learning requirements, achieving qualifications, and passing End Point Assessments.
  • Lead existing initiatives, such as the annual Apprentice Development Programme.
  • Identify opportunities to bring together different trainee groups (e.g., apprentices and graduates) through unified initiatives.
  • Lead on all trainee reporting, activity planning, and evaluation, supporting the L&D Director on wider L&D planning, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Manage and support other areas of L&D activity, as needed, including personal development courses, management & leadership development, coaching, and e-learning.
  • Design and develop learning initiatives, along with relevant learning materials, as required.
