Reliable Maintenance Specialist

Major Talent is recruiting a skilled Maintenance Engineer for our esteemed client in Burton-on-Trent, UK. Our client, with a rich history dating back to 1991, operates from a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and is part of the world's leading global food providers.
Primary Role Responsibilities:
- To ensure smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and services on a day-to-day basis in food production on fixed or rotating shifts.
- Complete reactive, proactive, and preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the Senior Shift Technician.
Main Job Objectives:
- Perform service and repair tasks on mechanical and electrical equipment, including fitting spares and conducting quality inspections across the facility.
- Respond immediately to machine/equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain health, safety, quality, and environmental standards through good engineering practices.
- Adhere to all factory standards and procedures and accurately complete all engineering-related paperwork.
- Contribute to driving the site's food safety culture to prevent deviations that impact product safety and quality.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Candidate must hold City & Guilds 2357 Level 3 NVQ electro technical technology (Level 2 minimum) qualification.
- 17th/18th Edition electrical qualification BS7671 and relevant mechanical experience are essential.
- NVQ Level 2/3 multi-skilled maintenance and appropriate Health, Safety & Environmental training are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - GCSE grade C or above in English Language are necessary.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and principles, computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, and experience working in a food-manufacturing environment are valuable.
- Able to work as part of a multi-skilled team and promote team working at all times.
- Minimum food hygiene level 2 is required.
Key Benefits:
- This permanent position offers growth opportunities, competitive salary of £49,000, and various shifts - days and also nights, 3 on 3 off 6pm - 6am.
- The role includes 33 days holiday including bank holidays and 5% pension contribution.
