Job Opportunity:

You will join our team as a Product Controller in the London Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) Structured Rates Product Control team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a link between Front Office and other stakeholders within the Finance team, bringing specialist product knowledge to resolve disagreements in daily profits and losses.
  • Produce daily profit and loss and decomposition reports for Front Office traders, including analytical reviews of risk-based decomposition and comparison of trader flash versus actual reports.
  • Ensure the integrity of the bank's books and records, including reconciliation to bank ledger systems and attestation of the books and records at month-end.
  • Keep the Product Control team and stakeholders informed of revaluation issues that may affect downstream activity.
  • Produce analytical reporting for the business and Finance team, as well as ad-hoc reporting as required by Front Office and senior management.
  • Participate in key change management projects to deliver improvements to our daily processes.
  • Ensure Product Control remains an independent control function.
  • Support and provide training to junior members of the team.

Requirements:

  • Strong skills in vanilla options, structured interest rates, and note issuance product and revaluation.
  • Competent accountancy skills, preferably with a qualification such as CIMMA, ACA, or ACCA.
  • Excellent numerical skills with the ability to problem-solve in a logical manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with Front Office members.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and under severe time pressure.
  • Effective in allocating priorities.
