Opportunity Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to join our Environment Policy & Strategy team. The successful candidate will play a leading role in working with internal and external partners and stakeholders to advance the Council's work on biodiversity and nature recovery.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves managing projects, developing strategic documents, and providing technical advice to various stakeholders, including senior managers and elected members. The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications and/or experience in the environmental field and a proven ability to deliver projects and coordinate multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Manage a range of projects, utilizing a structured methodology to ensure successful delivery.
  2. Strategic Development: Develop and maintain strategic documents, aligning with the Council's goals and objectives.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and key audiences.
  4. Technical Advice: Provide expert technical advice to senior managers, elected members, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Relevant Qualifications: Possess relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in the environmental field.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships.
  • Project Coordination: Show experience in successfully managing projects, with a focus on coordinated delivery.
  • Data Interpretation: Be able to interpret data from various sources to support project delivery and effective communication.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £42,109 - £46,043 per annum, considering the location and job requirements.
