Paediatric Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paediatric Staff Nurse to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in our paediatric department. This will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for a specified group of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the paediatric department
- Take charge of the ward as delegated by the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse for a specified period of time
- Act as a Team Leader, delegating appropriate tasks and supervising the standard of care delivered by more junior qualified staff, unqualified staff, and learner nurses in the ward team
- Assist the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse in the management of preceptorship of newly qualified staff, returning to nursing staff, and the mentorship of nursing students and healthcare support workers
- Undertake and document a comprehensive, systematic, and accurate nursing assessment of the physical, social, and spiritual needs of patients where appropriate
- Creates and utilizes opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care
- Leads a nursing team to manage a group of patients throughout a shift
- Ensure that all staff work within the Policies and Procedures of the Trust in line with NMC Guidance
- Positive attitude to continuing professional education in order to enhance knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for safe and effective nursing practice
- Maintaining standards by ensuring that evidence-based practice underpins all nursing interventions
- Participate in Trust Appraisal system
- Liaises with Ward/Department Team, other Wards and Departments as appropriate to ensure patients receive optimum care
