We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paediatric Staff Nurse to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a Paediatric Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to children and young people.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise as a Paediatric Staff Nurse. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a specified group of patients, as well as taking charge of the ward as delegated by the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients, including those with complex needs. You will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, supervising junior staff and contributing to the management of the ward.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and document comprehensive, systematic, and accurate nursing assessments of patients' physical, social, and spiritual needs.
- Create and utilize opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.
- Lead a nursing team to manage a group of patients throughout a shift.
- Ensure that all staff working within the ward adhere to Policies, Procedures of the Trust in line with NMC Guidance.
- Participate in Trust Appraisal system.
- Liaise with Ward/Department Team, other Wards and Departments as appropriate to ensure patients receive optimum care.
We are looking for a Paediatric Staff Nurse who has:
- RSCN/RN Child Branch/RN/RN Adult qualification.
- Experience within the specialty.
- Ability to motivate others, demonstrate sound clinical knowledge, and professional judgment.
- Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and ability to have positive working relationships.
- Proven leadership skills, ability to work under pressure, and meet required deadlines.
- Computer literate and experience of using evidence-based practice.
