Job Description

As a key member of the Leeds City Council team, you will play a vital role in delivering a housing options service that supports vulnerable individuals and families in need of accommodation.

In this challenging and rewarding position, you will work closely with a range of stakeholders, including council staff, partner agencies, and service users, to provide expert advice and guidance on housing options and homelessness prevention.

You will be responsible for assessing the needs of service users, identifying suitable housing solutions, and developing personalized plans to support their long-term stability.

With a strong focus on customer service, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that service users receive a high-quality, responsive, and compassionate service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a face-to-face housing options service to individuals and families in need of accommodation, including those who are homeless, threatened with homelessness, or at risk of homelessness.
  • Assess the needs of service users and identify suitable housing solutions, including temporary and permanent accommodations.
  • Develop personalized plans to support service users' long-term stability, including referrals to partner agencies and community-based services.
  • Liaise with partner agencies, including housing providers, support services, and local authorities, to ensure effective service delivery and coordination.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that service users receive a high-quality, responsive, and compassionate service.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including case file reviews and performance monitoring, to ensure that service delivery meets established standards.
Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as social work, housing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable populations, including homeless individuals and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and responsive delivery.
  • Knowledge of housing law and policy, including the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
