SEN Teacher Required for Alternative Provision in Bermondsey

We are seeking a confident and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at an alternative provision in Bermondsey. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small class of students with behavioural and emotional difficulties, working closely with a team of teaching assistants and the lead teacher to design and deliver a curriculum tailored to the needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of a team of teaching assistants to support the delivery of a tailored curriculum
  • Provide pastoral support to students with severe barriers to learning
  • Work with the lead teacher to design and deliver a curriculum within your specialist subject area
  • Develop and maintain schemes of work across subjects

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching students with behavioural difficulties in a mainstream school, special school, PRU or alternative provision
  • Knowledge of strategies for SEN in the secondary phase
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of teaching assistants and the lead teacher
