About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Accountant at Page Personnel Finance. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transactions: Process daily cash flow and postings for multiple bank accounts, including allocation of receipts and payments.
  • Invoice Management: Post purchase ledger invoices and request budget-holder approval where necessary.
  • Payment Processing: Produce monthly payment runs and ad-hoc payments, including BACS payments to suppliers.
  • Debt Collection: Chase, send invoices, credit notes, and statements to ensure timely payment from customers.
  • Vendor Management: Reconcile and maintain vendor accounts, including opening new approved customer accounts.
  • Payroll Administration: Process monthly payrolls, including pensions, salary journals, and HMRC submissions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare daily sales reports, Intrastat reports, and administer employee expense claims.
  • Financial Analysis: Run month-end routines, open new accounting periods, and perform bank reconciliations and currency revaluations.
  • Fixed Assets: Manage fixed assets, including depreciations and disposals.
  • Provisions: Accrue and prepay expenses, manage bad debt, inventory, obsolete stock, and profit in stock.
  • Financial Statements: Prepare draft trial balances, including analysis of variances, and assist in the preparation of annual accounts and audit.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in an all-round accounting position, ideally within a small company.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is desirable but not essential.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, good time-keeping, and time management.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and work to deadlines.
  • Integrity: Honest and reliable, self-motivated with a willingness to learn, and good organizational skills.
