Production Team Leader Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Production Team Leader to join our client's manufacturing team in Derby.

This role will support the Production Manager in all aspects of daily manufacturing and continuous improvement activities, including managing a team of 30+ employees and making key production decisions in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of production employees, ensuring daily performance and KPI deliverables are met.
  • Make key production decisions in the absence of the Production Manager.
  • Monitor and support new team members, identifying training and development needs.
  • Support the production team in completing production tasks and deliver shift handover process.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to manage product defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and manage absence and lateness levels, disciplinary matters, holiday allocation, and sickness cover.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of Team Leader or Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and a focus on training and development of production employees.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume manufacturing environment and manage pressures associated with it.
  • Forward-thinking and proactive approach.
  • Positive and professional attitude with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment procedures and excellent Microsoft Office skills.
